Once upon a time Tucson was a lush
green oasis, a hotbed of agriculture. Now it's a food desert, in the desert!
On May 13th, the non-profit
organization Sustainable Tucson brought
together an amazing panel of local food experts to discuss Food Resilience. The
speakers provided insight on how to re-green the desert during global climate
change:
Growing your own, harvesting water
and sharing with neighbors are the roots for building food resilience. Then,
when you grow too much, you give the surplus to Iskashitaa.
